Keepvale — a place for family heritage

Our Story

Caring for Families, One Story at a Time

Keepvale was built around a simple idea: that the records and memories families hold deserve the same quiet attention as anything else that matters.

Who We Are

The Keepvale Story

Keepvale began in Chiang Mai in 2017, after our founder — working alongside older adults through a community wellbeing programme — noticed something consistent: many families had boxes of photographs, folders of paperwork, and decades of memories that nobody had ever quite gotten around to sorting.

The problem wasn't a lack of care. It was a lack of a calm, structured starting point. Keepvale was created to be exactly that — a small, personal service where families could come to get things in order without feeling overwhelmed.

Over the years, we've shaped three core services: a course for gathering and arranging family memories, practical support for organizing important records, and a workshop for writing personal letters and reflections to pass on. Each one was built slowly, tested with real families, and refined based on what actually helped.

We work with a small number of clients at a time, because this kind of work benefits from attention. We're based in the Si Phum area of Chiang Mai's old city, and we work with families from across northern Thailand and beyond.

"A tidy record and a written memory are small acts of love — and they outlast almost everything else."

Our Mission

To support families in preserving what matters — with calm guidance, practical structure, and deep respect for the personal nature of their histories.

Our Values

  • Patience: Nothing here is rushed. Families move through this work at their own pace.
  • Discretion: Personal materials and family stories are treated with care and complete privacy.
  • Practicality: We focus on results you can see and use — organized systems, written words, preserved photos.
  • Warmth: This work touches on things that matter. We approach it with genuine care for the people involved.

How We Work

Our Standards

The principles that guide every service we offer.

Privacy First

Family documents, photos, and personal stories are handled with complete discretion. We do not share, copy, or retain client materials beyond the scope of each engagement.

Clear Scope

Each service has a defined scope. We're clear about what we do — organization, education, and heritage activities — and we never stray into areas outside our expertise.

Education-Led Approach

Our courses and workshops are built on sound adult-learning principles — clear structure, practical activities, and space for reflection at each stage.

Thorough Materials

Every service includes carefully prepared materials — templates, checklists, and workbooks — reviewed and updated regularly to stay genuinely useful.

Honest Communication

We tell families clearly what each service includes, what it costs, and what to realistically expect. No surprises, no pressure.

Small Client Numbers

We work with a limited number of families at any one time. This allows us to give proper attention to each person rather than running high-volume sessions.

Our Expertise

A Focused Practice in Family Heritage and Records

Keepvale works at the intersection of personal history and practical organization. Our three services each address a distinct challenge: the visual and narrative history stored in photos and stories, the practical management of key household documents, and the personal writing that families often feel they should do but rarely find the right structure for.

What distinguishes this work from general decluttering or filing services is the depth of attention given to meaning. A shoebox of photographs isn't just a storage problem — it's a question of which stories get told and which ones get lost. The same is true for correspondence, personal letters, and the kinds of informal records that don't fit neatly into any official system.

Our approach draws on established principles from archiving, adult education, and narrative practice — adapted carefully for the personal scale at which most families work. We don't require any prior knowledge or particular organization skills. Each service is designed to meet people where they are and build from there.

Based in the old city of Chiang Mai, Keepvale serves families from across northern Thailand and occasionally works with families who have settled in Thailand from elsewhere. Our services are offered in English, with selected sessions available in Thai. If you'd like to understand which service might suit your situation, we're always happy to have a brief, no-obligation conversation first.
